Before Hours - Walk-In Service

Note: Our phone lines do not turn on until 8:00 a.m. Before Hours patients do not need to call before coming.

Before Hours is a walk-in availability for sick kids before the office opens for normal office hours. Children will be evaluated on a first-come, first-served basis. These visits are to enable parents to have their sick children examined early in the morning, so that decisions about school and work can made as quickly as possible. Knowing that children can been seen early should be of some comfort through the night and make planning for the next day a bit easier.

Before Hours visits are intended for relatively simple, acute symptoms such as fever, ear pain, sore throat, cough, pink eye, etc. These visits are not intended for evaluation of chronic conditions. We ask that regular appointments be made for longer standing issues. Because Before Hours visits take place prior to normal office hours, we are required to attach an off-hours billing code to these visits. Depending on insurance coverage, this may result in an additional expense to patients.

Early morning is not the only time to have sick children seen. We of course continue to offer same-day sick appointments throughout the day.
